Would you love the chance to study the Bible in an in-depth, interactive way at your own convenience? If the answer is yes, you’ll be glad to know that starting Wednesday, June 19, we plan to start on BibleJourney. What is BibleJourney?
BibleJourney is an interactive curriculum housed in an app (for a tablet or computer, and eventually a phone), comprised of six courses as follows:
- Course 1: The Five Books of Moses
- Course 2: The Historical and Poetic Books
- Course 3: The Prophets and the Restoration Books
- Course 4: The Gospels
- Course 5: Acts and the Pauline Epistles
- Course 6: The General Epistles and Revelation
BibleJourney consists of video lectures (classroom and onsite in the Holy Lands), most generally 1-6 minutes long. The app courses include engaging exercises such as matching, drag and drop, journaling, interactive maps, etc. You engage BibleJourney directly in-app. On Wednesday evenings we plan to discuss the material covered since the prior week. We plan to start our journey with the first course, The Five Books of Moses. As noted in the Diocesan newsletter, Diocesan members receive a 75% discount for each course, reducing the cost of a course from $200 to $50. If the net cost is still an issue for anyone, please inquire about a scholarship opportunity.
I encourage you to embark on the journey and start exploring the app by loading the BibleJourney software on your device now. Not only will you find the videos and exercises engaging; you will also come away with an excellent biblical foundation.
To get started, members need to follow these steps. There is additional info on the BibleJourney website, including some FAQs. For those interested, please contact Fr. Michael or Joyce Dolan to obtain the diocesan discount code.
