Fr. Dan is an associate priest at St. Dunstan’s. Fr. Dan Moore was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. He enlisted in the Army and served 3 years, including one year in Thailand. He also served 5 years as an officer (nurse). Dan was medically retired from the Army Nurse Corps.
After 30 years of nursing, he attended and graduated from Trinity School for Ministry in Ambridge, PA, and was ordained in the Episcopal Diocese of Central Florida in 1998. He served at Holy Faith, Port St. Lucie, Florida, for 4 years. He then moved to the Episcopal Diocese of Albany, NY, in 2002, serving at Trinity Church in Gouverneur, NY until 2007.
Fr. Dan has been married to his wife, Pat, for 35 years, and they have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. A car wreck in January 2007, resulted in a Traumatic Brain Injury leading to an early disability retirement. Fr. Dan and Pat moved back to Florida in 2008. They have been worshipping at St. Dunstan’s since Ash Wednesday, 2014 and have since been received into the Anglican Church.
Fr. Dan has been on 4 mission trips. He went to Honduras twice in 1991, first in February with the rector and youth minister to plan the church mission trip that went in August of that year. He spent a month in Uganda in 1997 while in seminary, volunteering as a nurse and serving as a divinity student. He also went to Long Beach, Mississippi, in November 2005, to volunteer as a nurse and priest, serving the clean-up effort after Hurricane Katrina.
