I wanted to take a moment to tell you all thank you for your incredible generosity over the past few weeks. Between the money raised for Hurrican Dorian relief, the funds given today in the special offering for the stranger in desperate need who just happened to walk into our sanctuary, and donations towards the Diocesan Mission Fund, you all raised a bit under $5,000 in a couple of weeks!
The fantastic thing about that generosity is that it’s all going outside our building and into the world. As your Rector and Priest, I couldn’t be prouder. God brought two people to our building today who needed help desperately. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to meet their needs.
I do recognize that these types of asks for special giving are not sustainable. I haven’t even mentioned my thankfulness for your generosity and faithfulness in your regular giving. Nor have I mentioned some special gifts that were given to the church recently. We have much for which to be grateful. But over the past few weeks, you all saw different types of needs and offered what you could to meet those needs. No one could ask for anything more than that.
I believe that the Lord will bless St. Dunstan’s if we focus more on the needs of others than on ourselves, and we’ve shown ourselves to be a church that does precisely that. Your generosity never ceases to amaze me.
You all have a Rector who is very proud to worship Jesus Christ and work for the Kingdom of God with you. Thank you for the privilege of being your priest.
